On 13th October 2020, a three-party agreement was signed for the implementation of the Lidar project, i.e. for the second phase of the project, between the Norwegian Mapping and Cadaster Authority, the Agency for Real Estate Cadaster of the Republic of North Macedonia and Primul Meridian, a Romanian company that was selected to conduct the scanning at the tender, according to the Norwegian regulations.
The Government of Norway, through the Norwegian Mapping and Cadaster Authority(StatensКartverk) is providing support for the countries in the region in the process of obtaining updated geographic information in digital form available via the Internet for the public and private sectors, for the purpose of mediating the effects of climate change.
The digital model of the terrain of the Republic of Macedonia is the basis for conducting a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analyses of the contents of the land area and, in combination with orthophoto images, it will have broad applications in cadaster, urban development, agriculture, protection of the environment, crisis management, defense, as well as for the needs of many other institutions that use geospatial data.
The three parties, with the relevant presentations, presented their organizations, and the Agency for Real Estate Cadaster presented its experiences from the first phase of the project. In line with the recommendations and the current situation with the pandemics, the meeting and the signing were organized online, while observing all the prescribed health protocols.
