On September 21st, 2020, the Director of AREC, Boris Tundzev, met with Michael Aterhog, First Secretary and Development Cooperation Coordinator at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – Sida, accompanied by a representative from the Swedish Embassy.
The meeting, at the request of the guests, was held in the open, within the scope of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of the Republic of North Macedonia, whereby all recommended health protocols were complied with.
The cooperation so far was reviewed, with a special emphasis on the implementation of the project “Cooperation for Digital Democracy”, which the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of the Republic of North Macedonia implemented with the Swedish Lantmäteriet. The guest was acquainted with the future plans of AREC in the field of real estate cadastre, geodesy and NSDI, as well as with the cooperation of the Agency with the other institutions and ministries. The Director Tundzev expressed special satisfaction with the cooperation and support provided so far by the Kingdom of Sweden.
With regard to future cooperation, the guest Aterhog noted that the new strategy of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – Sida, which is adopted by the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden, provides for the support of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre in the next 7 years because it is recognized as a professional, expert institution, with the support of which the Macedonian society is also directly supported.
It was jointly concluded that there is a need for investment in human resources and the development of a sustainable strategy for human resources of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of the Republic of North Macedonia, in order to take proper care of the necessary professional and expert staff.
