NSDI
Countries that have sustainable development and application of the principles of ‘good governance’ in their perspective, sooner or later start developing strategies for development and implementation of National spatial data infrastructures (NSDI). Being aware of the benefit that NSDI could bring to а society in the long term, in the Republic of Macedonia the ‘need’ for development of NSDI is accepted and the initial steps and activities are already taken by the legally appointed authority for these affairs - the Agency for real estate cadastre.
This conference titled 'Impact of the NSDI in the society and the Challenges for its establishment' goes in alignment with the authority that the Government of the Republic of Macedonia gave to the Agency for real estate cadastre to be the key actor in the development and implementation of Macedonian NSDI.
As one of the main objectives of NSDI is 'sharing of the spatial data' we would like to use this conference as a place where we could share our experience and knowledge but also to learn from other countries and their experiences and what challenges they faced on their way to the development and implementation of their NSDI's. We expect that the NSDI developments and implementation of INSPIRE directive from the countries in our region will be presented accordingly with focus on their planned and projected further steps, but we also strongly believe that presentations about these activities from the developed European Countries would contribute in creating a clearer picture and to envision the challenges of the NSDI establishment.
On the behalf of the Agency for real estate cadastre, it is my pleasure to invite all stakeholders from the Republic of Macedonia as well as from the region and internationally to take active participation in our conference and with their presence and presentations we believe they will contribute to a successful conference which would be of mutual benefit to all.
