On September 25th, 2019 the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of the Republic of North Macedonia in the Members of Parliament Club, in Skopje presented the project “Cooperation for Digital Democracy”, funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden, and promoted the Study on the selection of the state cartographic projection, the author of which is Professor Zlatko Srbinoski, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Skopje.
The Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of the Republic of North Macedonia and Lantmäteriet(Swedish Cadastre) in 2018 received financial support from the Swedish International Development Agency – SIDA for the implementation of the project “Cooperation for Digital Democracy”. The project is organized in five components and will be implemented in the period 2019 – 2023, and the total amount of the donation is 23,710,406 Swedish krona (about 2,5 million euros).
The event was attended by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Goran Sugareski, who in his address emphasized the following:
“The digital age offers new opportunities for reinforcing the main principles that we follow as a Government, which are transparency, effectiveness and responsiveness of all state institutions. It is our duty to create adequate legislation and conditions for the implementation of the new technologies and digital tools, in order to modernize and promote the services offered by the public institutions, facilitate the access to information of interest to the citizens and businesses, as well as provide speed and efficiency in the implementation of the processes.
At a time when the Ministry of Transport and Communications is making the biggest reform in the area of Spatial Planning, I believe that these digital tools will be of great benefit in implementing these changes and providing the users with the necessary information.
Therefore, as a Government we are especially focused on increasing the capacity of the Cadastre in order to achieve a higher quality of services.
We assure you that we will continue to work on the improvement and modernization of the state institutions through the implementation of new technologies, standards and processes.”
The Director of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Boris Tundzev stressed the following:
“With the help from our friends from Sweden we are working to improve the services and the work performance of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre.
Geodesy, and thus the Real Estate Cadastre are a living matter, a process of everyday learning and improving the knowledge and work performance. If one generation began to work with basic theodolites, we are now using satellites and many other more advanced technologies. In order to improve our professional performance and maintain the required level of knowledge, the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre continuously invests in education and in learning new, advanced techniques and technologies. In 2018, guided precisely by this idea, we applied together with Lantmäteriet(Swedish Cadastre) and received the financial support from the Swedish International Development Agency – SIDA for the implementation of this project, which we ambitiously called “Cooperation for Digital Democracy”.
What is important for our country is that through this project the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of the Republic of North Macedonia will receive continuous education, improvement of the technique and performance, and within the framework of five components, through the perfection of which we will become even better as an organization.
The work of the Professor Zlatko Srbinoski “Study on the selection of a new state cartographic projection of the Republic of North Macedonia” was presented in the second part, which work will give an answer to the question of which state cartographic projection is the most suitable one for the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia and it should contribute to the final selection of the new state cartographic projection of our country.
