On March 6, 2019, the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of Republic of North Macedonia held workshop titled: “Best practices and learned lessons for establishment of Address Register”. Representatives from the municipalities throughout the country attended the workshop, and they will play a significant role in the entire process for establishment of Address Register in our country.
The establishment of Address Register shall mean introduction of single centralized system of address data which should enable management and maintenance of such data from one place in a single base for all involved parties, competent ministries, municipalities and other institutions having access and need of address datum.
In addition to the welcoming speech, the Director of AREC held his opening presentation, after which presentations were held by the representatives from Norway and the Netherlands, countries with well-established and managed Address Register, defined and clear operational procedures and protocols between the institutions and registries supporting this system. They discussed about the best international practices and elaborated the challenges related to the Address Register in the Netherlands.
On today’s workshop, the project consultant for Address Register in Kosovo and Montenegro shared his experiences related to the establishment of Address Register in Kosovo.
At the end of the workshop, the representative of the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of Republic of North Macedonia presented the current activities related to this process in our country, which was followed by a productive discussion.
AREC takes into consideration the need of education and sharing positive practices and will cooperate with the municipalities in that regard. The Agency will thoroughly elaborate all possible examples, so that the municipalities can implement the necessary activities in the future for which the Agency is already in the process of preparing Instructions for establishing such register.
