EuroGeographics General Assembly (European Association of National Mapping, Land Registry and Cadastral Agencies) was held from the 7th to the 10th of October 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic.
This year’s topic of the Assembly was the “Strategic Importance of the European Location Services (ELS)”.Many presentations and round tables took place, where every national agency expressed its opinion about the European Location Services (ELS) project.The future positioning of EuroGeographics as an organization was also reviewed, as well as its role in the presentation of its members in front of the bodies of the European Commission and other professional organizations.
The Operational Plan and the Budget for 2019 was reviewed within the Assembly.New members of EuroGeographics Management Board were selected.The Management Board now consists of representatives from the national mapping, land registry and cadastral agencies from Cyprus, Denmark, Ukraine and the Netherlands.Mrs. Ingrid Vanden Berghe, former president of EuroGeographics, who presided with the Association for two mandates, withdrew from her position.Mr. Colin Bray, the Chief Executive and Chief Survey Officer of Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) Irish National Mapping Agency, was elected as the new president of EuroGeographics.
EuroGeographics has 60 members – mapping, land registry and cadastral agencies from 45 countries in Europe, among which our Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of Republic of Macedonia as well, whose delegation also participated on the General Assembly.
