The Agency for Real Estate Cadastre of the Republic of Macedonia, as a member of the Council of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Republic of Macedonia (NSDI) and a competent institution for the establishment, maintenance and provision of public access to the NSDI Geoportal for maintenance of metadata services, a metadata register and related trainings, participated in the INSPIRE Conference 2018. The conference was held from 18 to 21 September 2018 in Antwerp, Belgium entitled “Make it work together”, and was organized by the European Commission together with the Netherlands and Belgium as member states of the European Union.
The aim of the conference was to deepen the cooperation between the members of the European Union and those who committed to implement the INSPIRE Directive, for which, according to the NSDI Law of the Republic of Macedonia, the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre is competent. Experiences in the implementation of the Directive were exchanged and new policies and initiatives related to it were identified, as well as in terms of the free sharing of geospatial data and information at all levels (from local self-government to international data exchange).
Now that the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive and the numerous scientific, green and technical initiatives have matured, they need to be effectively evaluated and used, and the EU Member States and the other countries that have committed to implement the INSPIRE Directive, including the Republic of Macedonia, need to work for the benefit of the society and the economy, by sharing and using the data in accordance with the rules and principles on which the Directive is based.
